Title

Maliit input methods for integrators and developers

Description

Maliit provides a flexible and cross-platform input method framework, including a virtual keyboard. It is designed for mobile and embedded devices running MeeGo and other GNU/Linux distributions. Maliit has a number of features to allow it to be well integrated it into a mobile or embedded product/platform. This includes support for multiple toolkits (and APIs to extend this support), a plugin architecture to allow a wide range of input methods and a good reference virtual keyboard with extensive theming capabilities.

Maliit was previously a part of MeeGo/Harmattan, but is now establishing itself as an independent upstream project, where these platforms are considered downstreams.

Website: www.maliit.org

This session will target integrators who are interested in using Maliit in their platform or product, and developers who want to extend or improve Maliit. A short introduction to the project will be given, perhaps including some demonstrations. And then we want to discuss: how Maliit fits your usecases, how it can be integrated and improved!
