Individual schedule extract

The organizing team recognizes the value of accessing personal schedules. However, the framework that houses the desktopsummit.org website does not make it easy to develop additional capabilities. While providing personal calendar information may be "theoretically doable", finding someone on the team with Drupal chops as well as the time to do something is a challenge. Recognizing the need, IRC #desktopsummit folks, staz and xrmx, put together some utilities. According to them, both are rough and untested.

xrmx built a script that works with the program page and individual user profile signups. "http://pastebin.com/HmXJ9Wbc If the user is logged, this reads the stuff in the user's profile and marks as red the stuff that is signed up, yellow is for the stuff that a person has added to their schedule from the program page."

staz offered: http://server.staz.be/~staz/schedule.xml that can create the xml for those interested...according to staz, "it's not very good but it works with sojourner at least." It has been reported to work with Giggity for Android.

You can also get the schedule of the event pushed to your mobile phone, including announcements from the organizers, or subscribe to the iCalendar feeds via tools like Giraffe on Android by hooking up to the Kolab Server set up for this purpose: General_info:Schedule_via_Kolab
