Title

Lightweight Desktop Projects

Description

While GNOME and KDE desktops are constantly adding new and exciting features, there is also a growing demand for simple and lightweight desktops for computers and netbooks with lower specs. Sharing toolkits, lightweight applications, designs, and translations across desktops is a common practice. Still, cooperations often depend on initiatives of single contributors. How can we facilitate sharing and cross project cooperation in a simplified formalized process? How can this help to enhance desktop environments and free resources of contributors? What are other current questions to discuss regarding the demand for lightweight systems and cooperations among desktop projects?
