Using Cell Phone in Germany

You may find it necessary to have a cell phone during your stay in Berlin. Here you can find some information on pre-paid SIM cards available in Germany.

The initial costs vary (starting from €10) and most of the time, you need your ID to buy one.

There are four major mobile phone providers with various options. You can get the SIM card directly from the shops of the providers or from Supermarkets and credits are available also from some gas stations/street shops.

A short always up to date list of 3G prepaid data providers you find at Teltarif. The Lidl-SIM cards listed therein are available at the Lidl supermarket right next to the U/S Jannowitzbrücke station, where the pre-registration event takes place.
