Get The Schedule And Announcements via Kolab On Your Mobile
Kolab is the Groupware Solution for the Free Desktop with native clients for both KDE (Kontact) and GNOME (Evolution) as well as connectivity to Mozilla Thunderbird/Lightning. Additional clients are available for Linux mobile devices and the web. The Kolab Groupware Server combines well tested Free Software components such as Cyrus IMAP for content storage, OpenLDAP for user authentication, ClamAV and SpamAssassin for spam & virus filtering.
The organisers of the Desktop Summit, in cooperation with Kolab Systems AG, are providing a Kolab server from which you can sync the schedule and announcements from the organisers to your mobile devices. Any mobile device capable of ActiveSync will be able to do this.
How To Use The Kolab Server
Sync the conference schedule and messages to your mobile by using the following credentials with your ActiveSync (Exchange) client:
Server: demo.desktopsummit.org Domain: desktopsummit.org User: schedule@desktopsumit.org Password: schedule
Some help for configuring your phone: http://wiki.kolab.org/Z_push#Clients
This account has been deliberately locked down for security. You will not be able to send any mail and will not push any content to the server.
Schedule via iCal
The Kolab Server also provides the schedule of each room as an iCalendar stream for various applications. The URL for these streams is
https://kolab.desktopsummit.org/ics/<room>.ics
with <room> replaced by "Audimax" "Kinosaal" "Rm2002" "Rm3038" and for workshops "1.101" "1.3083" (instead of 1.308/3) and so on.
